Introduction

Judo, otherwise known as “The Gentle Way”, is a dynamic martial art which utilizes standing techniques (Tachi-waza), as well as groundwork techniques (Ne-waza), in order to subdue your opponent. Unlike other combat sports such as Karate and Taekwondo, no punching and kicking permitted in Judo, but instead the main focus is on throws, holdings, armbars and chokes. 

Hwa Chong Judo was established in 1990. Over the years, we have consistently proven ourselves on the mats, clinching the Overall Champions title in the A, B, and C Divisions of the National School Games in 2022, 2023, and 2024. Led by our Head Coach, Mr. Tang Soon Onn, we continue to push our limits and strive for excellence.

But beyond medals and titles, what truly defines us is our bond. If there’s one word to describe our team, it would be "family". We support one another through the toughest trainings, celebrating every victory and overcoming every setback together. In Hwa Chong Judo, you’ll not only grow stronger physically and mentally — you’ll also have a team that always has your back.
