National Education

Core National Education (NE) events, namely Total Defence Day (TDD), International Friendship Month (IFM), Racial Harmony Day (RHD), and National Day (ND), are commemorated annually. These events are organised by the college's own Students' National Education Council (SNEC).

Dialogues with political office holders and ambassadors are held on a regular basis. SNEC facilitates these dialogues to help students understand the rationale behind policies and to raise awareness of both the realities Singapore faces and the considerations policymakers take into account when defending the nation's interests. SNEC also designs infographics on a biweekly basis to keep students informed about current affairs.

Since 2021, students have gone on NE learning journeys aligned with the themes of total defence, diversity and sustainability.

Biennially, SNEC organises the NE Symposium, which serves as a platform for students to interact with other students of different backgrounds through authentic and meaningful experiences, empowering students with the will to act and contribute to Singapore’s future by becoming leaders in their own right.
